As many of you know, we moved into an old Victorian Italianate a couple of years ago. Since then, we’ve been restoring, renovating, and trying to decide what to do with different rooms.
First, some pictures of the house:
A lot needs to be done yet as these pictures were only a small glimpse of the house.
Well! At least we finally have a palette to work with:
Do you like it?
And these are some pictures I’ve gathered to take inspiration from!
What do you think?
Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting!

The house is splendid, Kymber. I like the color palette. Kudos! Happy New Year from Crystal (cat) and me.
Thank you so much, Teagan! Happy New Year from Cesare (cat – my Chief of Cheesy Writing! lol) and me. 🕛🥳🎉🎊🥂🎆❤️
Very lovely, Kymber. I admire your determination to recreate it in your own image. Love the lamp. Good luck.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Good luck to you, too.
Absolutely love this. The wall paper is stunning 😍
Thank you. I hope to find some similar. 🙂
Nice colors, great layouts!
Happy New Year!
Thank you so much! It’s lovely to meet you. I had a look at your wonderful artwork and I think you are a splendid artist! xo

Thank you, Dutch. You are so kind. 🙂
Kymber, it’s beautiful! Just looking at the photos I could feel the calming spirit of your home. Congrats to you and your family!
Thank you so much, Jacquie! I’m so pleased you like it. xo
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much, Dawn! It’s great to see you!
I absolutely love it! We wanted one but never found one for sale. Almost, but the lady decided to keep it. The red chandelier is awesome.
Thank you so much! And it’s so good to see you, btw. 🙂 I’m so glad you love it. Around here, the Victorians are hard to find, too. Once people have one, they don’t seem to move after that. lol The red chandelier used to be a gas lamp. After we moved in, we found the crystals for it, very carefully wrapped up in one of the closets. 🙂
not a bit bad, that is for an avatar!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you stopped by. 🙂

The house looks lovely. I know it is exciting to decorate and coordinate designs and patterns. I love the dining area with the paintings and the French doors.
There are nicely adorned items around in your home.
Thank you so much, Miss Latoya! It’s definitely exciting, that’s true. I’m so glad you love the dining room. There’s a bit more on the walls now, but I still want to paint in there and wallpaper, too.
Wow! The light is amazing! You’ve really been doing a great job decorating. The red glassware intrigues me, tell me about it, please, it’s beautiful.
I just love the peacock art nouveau lamp, it really goes well with the curtains in rich green that was favoured in the end of the 19th century. Your dining room and library with lots of pictures, look very inviting, just the place to have the family gathered. And that glass door, and the parquets….
The colour palette looks perfect – soft creamy tones and some spicy highlights. The inspiration pics are also great, I really fancy the pink flower print.
We’re also restoring, an old château built in 1664. Hard work, but so rewarding when you see the result. I’ve had the living room painted a dark blue, the ceiling included. Makes the decoration stand out, and the darkness is soothing. We’ve been living here for a year and only the second floor is almost done, we still have to tear down a few walls to make a modern kitchen and dining area, but at least we now have heaters in all rooms, and hot water 😂
Thank you for sharing pics of your home, it really is lovely!
Awww thank you so much! I’m so glad you like what we’ve been doing here. Are you talking about the red glass on the dining table? Or the cranberry glass on top of the cabinet in the dining room? Or the red glass in the library? lol I’m sorry.
The red glass on the dining table is called “ruby red.” It’s a type of depression glass.
The cranberry colored glass on top of the cabinet is called “cranberry opalescent.” A lot of it, but not all of it, was made by Fenton back in the 1940s or so.
The red glass on the stand in the library is called “amberina glass.” Amberina is a type of two-toned glassware, which was originally made from 1883 to about 1900.
I used to have a vintage and antique glass shop called The Glass Slipper. That was many years ago, though.
Your château sounds really lovely.. I’d love to see pictures of it. History is something I love to delve into and your château interests me. 🙂
That’s a gorgeous house. Congratulations! However, renovation is tough. It takes a lot of time and work and money. We’ve been renovating our house for the last 1 1/2 year and it is finally coming to an end.
Thank you so much, Thomas. 🙂 You are so right about how tough renovation is. The projects never seem to end. lol I’m so glad your renovation is seeing a completion now. 🙂
What a gorgeous home! I love the palette!
Thank you so much, Cathy! I’m glad you love the palette. It took me so long to figure that out.
You have your work cut out for you, Kymber. A quick glance and I already see ‘Victorian’. You’re doing a good job.
Thank you so much, Jacqui! 🙂 We are really loving putting our stamp on things.
Aaah Kymber, this is delightful and so creatively decorated, well done. I feel like popping in for tea 🙂 I know you are enjoying living there, it shows. blessings, Peter.
Thank you so much, dear Peter. We are enjoying this house so much, it’s true. If only you could really pop in for tea. How fun that would be. 🙂
