Depression, a poem by friend C. Borror

Depression

People who haven’t experienced it will never know
How you can feel so low
How can you feel so helpless, so hopeless, so worthless
There are many causes, I must confess
Some see images on tv or the net
And feel they have to live up to them, yet
It’s an impossible standard
So, they go on without saying a word
Some lose their husband or wife
How can they possibly go on with life
Some have been used
Some abused
There is many a scenario
Why someone feels they can’t face tomorrow
Seek help if you are feeling any of these things
For you never know what hope tomorrow brings

  1. Beautifully written. I lost my dad suddenly, and remember feeling like my heart was literally being ripped apart in my chest. It took me a long time to get over it and I went through a lot of anguish in the process. Your friend’s poem is very apt.

    • Thank you, Jacquie. I’m so sorry for your loss. That had to be so difficult; I really feel for you. I’ll make sure Courtney knows your thoughts on his poem.

  2. This is a poignant poem from your friend Courtney. It’s so true with how there are lots of different scenarios and instances of depression and how we never know what tomorrow and the future could bring, even on the days where we can’t imagine anything but the darkness we find ourselves in. xx
