Meet the Neighbors - Noble Doubt

MTN: The Edwards 1

Mike Edwards planned his life carefully, every single step in an order he set up. When he married, it was later in life, and to a woman who he deemed worthy.

Angela Edwards, on the other hand, hadn’t experienced life in any particular order at all. When she married Mike, she loved how attentive he was, how protective. It wasn’t until well later she discovered the mess she was in.

Poor Keith bore no responsibility at all for his parents’ happiness, but the way they treated him, you’d never know.

Mike had only one sure-fire way to light a fire under his son’s lazy ass. He would throw a huge tantrum to rival any two-year-old.

Keith’s grades weren’t up to par? Tantrum. Wife didn’t fix what he specifically wanted for dinner? Tantrum. Couldn’t find his Phillip’s head screw driver? Grade A tantrum.

Tonight, it was Keith’s turn. As usual, during the tantrum, Angela pretended to stare out the window. I mean, what could she do about it? At least it wasn’t her tonight.

Afterwards, he was completely calm with the smug assurance he’d finally gotten through to that knuckleheaded son of his.

Angela only hoped the new neighbors next door, the Seaforths, hadn’t heard anything.

  1. Such a horrible situation for Angela and Keith. This guy is bad, bad news, and Mom and son need to get out of there before certain tragedy strikes. This is a hellish, horrible situation. πŸ™

  2. I’m so sorry that Keith has to deal with such an abusive father. Angela, too, of course, but I first thought about the kid. This is rough.

    1. I think the child is more important in the situation, so I can see why you thought of him first. It’s such a sad situation.

    1. Yeah, he’s a typical narcissist. What’s too bad is that they rarely seek treatment because they can’t see that they are ever wrong.

    1. Thank you so much. I know, right? I guess you never know what’s going on for real in your neighbors’ houses.

I definitely wouldn’t call him a man. lol

    1. Thank you so much. It feels a little bit like a neighborhood rotation except they’re in Noble Doubt’s neighborhood. lol If that even made sense.

  3. Oh, dear. Not sure how anyone can help in a situation like this. Maybe be prepared to share the number for the Domestic Violence Hotline, if an opportunity arises… Or have it prominently displayed on the fridge when the neighbors come to visit!

  4. I have a sudden urge to play “goodbye earl” by The Chicks. πŸ˜‰

Hopefully Angela will avail herself to Jades sound legal advice for a fresh start for her and Keith.

  5. Oh no. A borderline abuser. I hope he doesn’t escalate to physical abuse, he’s already emotionally abusive. 😭😭😭
