Social Distancing

It’s time for social distancing
But I’ve been doing that for years
It saves from getting hurt
And shedding unwelcome tears

Now that everyone is practicing
I wish I could go out
Explore the world in all its fineness
With no one else about

But nothing out there’s open
So I might as well stay home
Read some books, kiss my husband
And pray for all who roam

  1. It’s now been over a year since I had surgery. I had surgery in March of 2020 and not long after I got out of the hospital the pandemic hit. UGH! It cheated me out of a planned trip with my aunt since all theme parks had closed down due to the pandemic. Still haven’t gone anywhere yet. :'( Someday……

    1. Yes! I haven’t read that one, but I saw the movie. I’m sure there’s no comparison, though, as books are usually better. Anyway, I agree about getting a good book and relaxing.

  2. Its funny, I love easy days, were I can stay at home and do anything I want. dont we all?

(it doesn’t happen much as I like it to, until now)

but this is so different, the feeling it brings, that you cant go out…

I’m not sure if this is the right word to use “lethargic” I cant go out and see my friends, so I want to even more

they are saying we are going to be locked down here now for 15 weeks.

As I dont have go to work for a while

I’m going have some a little time on my hands, going to try to get back into doing my story, plan to give it an ending as my game is still playing up, and it takes forever to do one scene.

I just want you to know…

Its helps a lot to say how you feel Kymber and it helps overs that are feeling the same way.

its a clever way to do it in a poem šŸ™‚

thank you so much Kymber for all you do here on this site. I feel like you are looking after us all in a small way šŸ™‚

you are a like a ray of sunshine here.

So try and remember that you are very much cared about and loved by family and all the friends you made here.

Please Stay strong and safe too

    D,

    1. Thank you so much, Darren, for your encouraging words. You are so kind. šŸ™‚ I’m glad I could brighten your day. Please stay safe.

  3. *waving at my fellow INFJ!* I absolutely love this poem. I chuckled because I could relate about having been doing social distancing for years šŸ˜€

P.S. Love your cat kiddo. Adorable!

  4. So right, so true
the same for me and you
while we are used to closed in walls
the rest are all now feeling blue

Okay I’m not a poet, but I tried on the spot.

  5. I definitely relate with finding it an exciting thought to explore now abandoned places. But, staying home and staying safe because itā€™s the right thing to do. I really enjoyed this poem, so apt for us introverts during hard times.

          1. Ha ha ha! Yes I do know. I want so much to tell people how they impact me in positive and inspiring ways but if I get a compliment I look for my introvert closet to hide in, šŸ˜‚. Strange but true.

            1. Iā€™ve always felt that way even when I was a child in preschool. I wanted to just do my own thing. If some kid grabbed my crayon the war was on. I would transform into my dark gothic steampunk vampire persona and even garlic wouldnā€™t stop my crayon rescue mission from the evil hordes.

            2. It wasnā€™t until the teacher sat me down and discussed crayon etiquette with me that I learned the crayons werenā€™t mine after all. So, I took up with scissors, craft paper, and glue. Nobody messed with me after that. šŸ¤Ŗ

            3. LOL Scissors have never been my friend. I’m afraid I felt a bit dumb because they wouldn’t work. It wasn’t until later I found out my trouble stemmed from being left handed. lol

            4. OMG! You made me snorkel laugh that time šŸ˜‚. And you are rarest of the rare gems for being a left handed INFJ. I was an ambi because I could do the same thing with one hand as the other but using my left hand with right handed stuff convinced me to just give up and go with the flow. I am right hand dominant now but wear my watch on my right hand so every body thinks Iā€™m left handed. Sometimes just for fun when business requires hand shakes, I throw my south paw out and then watch the struggle to compensate. Iā€™m not really mean like that all the time, it just happens.

            5. That’s right! familiarity breeds contempt. So don’t let familiarity dull the day. Keep em guessing. Words to love life by.

    1. I don’t know where you get your inspiration for your poems but it must be a creative oasis when reading your art. Superb two last lines. Happy weekend to you and your family ā˜€ļø
