August Reading Wrap-Up!

37

I hope you’re having a wonderful week, Kind Friends! And I also hope the month of August was good to you!

In my neck of the woods (the Great Lakes Area in the US), it’s been hot and humid, but then we had some days in there that felt like an early Autumn. How has it been for you?

Well, without further ado, here is my progress for August:

I read 11 books in August. And I am 6 books behind schedule in the Goodreads Reading Challenge.

Next up, I want to read Finding Me: An Estranged Sisters New Adult Romance Novel (The Defiant Sisters Duet Book 2) by Jacquie Biggar!

I really want to read all of Jacqui Murray’s books!

And I want to finish the Ghost Trapper series. There are so many of them, though.

The Umbrella Academy (2019-2024)
Season 4
Evil (2019–2024)
Season 4
House of the Dragon (2022-)
Season 2
The Resort (2022-)
Season 1
Twisters (2024) Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
Abigail (2024)The First Omen (2024)
Fright Night (1985)Wonka (2023)
A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) Immaculate (2024)
Alien: Romulus (2024)
Movies with arrows were seen in the theater.

Some exciting movies still coming in 2024 are The Crow and Nosferatu with Bill Skarsgård. Other movies I’m looking forward to are, Beetlejuice 2Joker: Folie à Deux, and Wicked Part 1.

What did you read in August, and what was your favorite?

What did you watch, and what did you think about it?

August was a great month at our house, and our daughter and son’s houses. We celebrated Mom’s birthday with a big BBQ and both my sisters were there.

I had to take July off, and so, I didn’t read anything. I’m not worried about being 6 books behind in the Reading Challenge. I know I will make it up here and there as I go along.

May your day, and the month of September, bring you blessings and joy!

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

  1. Quite a collection of books and shows Kymber. I must admit to being stuck in the Outlander series. I have finished the books up to date and am now reading the “bulges” (as Diana Gabaldon calls her novellas). All very interesting and so much more detail than the series. I also read the Silo series which I could not put down. Vastly different that season 1. As to TV, Emily in Paris, Only Murders in the building, Find Me Falling and The Union, as well as continuing to rewatch Cheers. Happy Wednesday. Allan

    • Both my sisters are caught up with the Outlander series. They like them, but I was the baddy who watched the show instead. LOL I think I would enjoy the Silo series.

I just started watching this season of “Only Murders in the Building.” I love that show so much. It will be in my Sept. Reading-Wrap Up.

      Happy Wednesday, Allan! 🌸

  2. We watch so many of the same shows/movies, Kymber. After finishing The Umbrella Academy season 4, I started all over again with season 1. I also finished House of the Dragon and Evil. The 1985 Fright Night is always a favorite.

    • I’m kind of mad at The Umbrella Academy for putting “Baby Shark” in my head. Although, that was hilarious. LOL🤣😂

What did you think about how Evil ended? I’m curious.

Fright Night 1985 is always a go-to kind of movie when we don’t know what to watch. lol The Mister really likes Silver Bullet, too.

    • LOL Thanks, Thomas. I’ve been slacking. lol Actually, it’s because the month of July was off-kilter. But I’m not worried about the 6 books. I think I can make that up over time. 🙂

      Happy reading! 🌺

  3. I’ve temporarily stopped reading books, but another blogger gave me an interesting tip for a book that resembles my short story prompts with the Great Dane. I’m pretty curious about perhaps trying to read that one. The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. No idea if it turned into a movie, but I’d watch it if I could find it.

      • Me too! I actually found the book yesterday evening as an audiobook, so I bought it and started listening to it. So far it’s really good. It’s gonna take maybe 2 weeks to finish if I listen a bit each day.

  4. You always recommend such good ones! Ooooh I love love love Bill Skarsgård, can’t wait to see those! Looking forward to seeing what they do with the Joker movie too. Glad your weather is taking a bit of a turn. It may be about 1-2 degrees cooler here 🤣 I’m enjoying the rain, though. Happy Sunday 🩷
