Your Song Saved My Life

“Your Song Saved My Life”
(from “Sing 2” soundtrack)

Was a Monday morning
‘Bout a quarter past four
You were busy dreaming
So what did you wake up for?

Are you a stranger in your own life?
What are you hiding behind those eyes?
Is no one looking for you there?

You know your song saved my life
I don’t sing it just so I can get by
Won’t you hear me when I tell you, darling
I sing it to survive

You’re looking for a miracle
The kind that science can’t explain
The man you carry in your heart
Is only comfortable when he’s in pain

Are you a stranger in your own life?
What are you hiding behind those eyes?
Can anyone find you there?
Or just me?

You know your song saved my life
I don’t sing it just so I can get by
Won’t you hear me when I tell you, darling
I sing it to survive

Your song saved my life
The worst and the best days of my life
I was broken, now I’m open, your love keeps me alive
It keeps me alive

Your song saved my life
The worst and the best days of my life
Your song saved my life

Song saved my
Song saved my

Your song saved my life
Your song got me through tonight
Your song saved my life

Song saved my
Song saved my life

  1. A powerful post. The answer for your question: Yes it can, it literally can, as a right word at the right moment, I have seen it many times.. a song can also save lives when musician/composer gives some part of revenues to those in real need, as we all know these people are too much in these days. Every good deed can save life ”literally” 🌺😊🌺

      • I’m glad you created that kind of a post & really glad that your kind of people still are there. Your family is for sure proud of you since you are the real deal the real deep understanding woman 🌺🌹🌺

  2. I can’t say I’ve had one that saved my life, but plenty of them have inspired me in different ways. With one, I was stuck on the ending of one of my books. When I heard it, everything played out in my head like a movie. Wish that happened more often. Have a great weekend, Kymber!

  3. Great song, Kymber. I don’t recall a song that saved my life, but my husband and I have a song…”I’ve had the time of my life” from Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. The movie came out around the same time when we said our vows, 35 years ago. So because he is my best friend and has been beside me through the good and tough times, I’ll answer with this song. 🙂 ❤️🎶

  4. I don’t recall a song saving my life, but it’s funny that when I was going to my final divorce hearing in 1988, a song came on the radio just before I got out of the car to head into court that pumped me up like a wild woman! 💪🏼 It was recorded by this singer named Peaches, and the name of her song was “Girlfriend, How Could You Let Him Treat You So Bad?” (You know you are the best he ever had!) 😜

Honey ChickiePie, I faced that sucker in court like a beast! The End! 🤣😜😂

    • Hi, chickiepotpie! 🙂 That is so cool! What a perfect song for the moment! I love that so much. 😀

I about jumped out of my chair to cheer you on! LOL 😀 I love that story! xoxo

  5. Music is powerful! I don’t recall a song that saved my life but many songs have spoken to my experience. This was especially true when I could not find the words to express myself in that moment. Many songs got me through moments of grief and loss, one such song was Pearl Jam’s, Just Breathe. I find when I listen to the radio, while driving, the perfect song comes on to touch my current feelings and mood. This is the reason I also have enjoyed teaching expressive art groups. Many times I have used music therapy techniques to help members connect and process their feelings. Thanks for sharing, Kymber.
    Many Blessings
    Lisa

    • It’s interesting that you teach expressive art groups. xo I think music has the power to really touch us during those emotional times when we can’t articulate the way we are trying to.

  6. I don’t think any song ever saved my life, but there have been a few that got me by and eased maybe a bad breakup…
Make It Easy on Yourself by Jerry Butler comes to mind first. Then there were anthem songs like Running on Empty by Jackson Brown. Music plays a big part in life doesn’t it?
