Thank You, and Update

Well, it has been a while, Friends. Is anyone still here?

Helllloooooooooooo… is there an echo or is it just me? 🙂

Thank you so much for checking up on me through messenger, emails, notes, phone calls. You all are very kind.

Here is a thorough update on everything…

Our Daughter

I owe you all a debt of gratitude for your comments, shares, donations, and prayers regarding our daughter Katy (Amanda) and her cancer. It has been a tough battle, but I’ve never seen a young woman fight harder. Her spirits have been positive, never wavering. I’m so proud of her.

If you remember, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma while pregnant with her second child. When it was deemed safe, she began chemotherapy. In November, 2020, she gave birth to her second daughter, Lyra Violet. Katy did well, however, little Lyra spent quite a lot of time in the NICU, under constant supervision. In the beginning, she needed help breathing, but I reckon Lyra is just as strong as her momma because in no time, she was so much better, improving each day.

Not long after Lyra’s birth, Katy went back to rigorous weeks of chemotherapy. My husband and I took her to many sessions, and on March 8, she had her final treatment. Results of her latest PET scan revealed one lymph node still causing some trouble and we wait to see if she will have to undergo radiation or not.

Here is a picture that might make you smile:

The House

During this crazy time, my husband and I decided that instead of remodeling our house (which is why I took a hiatus in the first place), we were going to move closer to our daughter, her husband, and girls. The move was grueling because there wasn’t much time to plan things out.

In the end, we moved to a small village near where Katy and her husband live. The house is an old Victorian, built in 1870. We love this house dearly and can’t believe we wake up here each day. There is a lot to do as far as decorating, but we’ve got a good start.

Here are some pictures:

There are a lot of pics here, so I have yet to show you the sun porch, the back parlor, the master bedroom, and my nail/craft room. More on that in the future.

Noble Doubt

I’m pleased to tell you that Noble Doubt will return in the near future! I hope there are those of you out there who still want to read it. lol Either way, it will be here soon.

Thank you so much for reading along! I’m really excited to get back to Generation 8 with Kai and Jade. I hope you have a great weekend!

  1. I’m so happy to see you back, Kym. I*m glad to hear your daughter and grandbaby are both safe. It’s such a remarkable family. 💕 And I’m so excited to read Noble Doubt again. It’s a treat to have you back. On that note I’m sorry it took me a few days to comment here – I was a bit exhausted with work.
Anyway, lots of hugs to you and yours. So excited to have you back and lighting up our simming lives again. 💕

    • Thank you so much, Louise. There is no need to apologize. 🙂 It’s taken me a while to catch up with some comments and get back into our lovely community. I’m so glad you’re my friend. Lots of hugs to you, too. 💕 💕

  2. So glad to hear that Lyra is safe! Your daughter is very strong, wishing them the best. The view from your new home is gorgeous!! And of course, so is the new kitty friend 🙂 I’m excited to see you back and can’t wait for a post!

    • Thank you, Raymond. We were watching Lyra and Lilly tonight for Katy and her husband, and they are so amazing. Lyra is one tough cookie. 🙂 I’m excited to get back into the story, too. 🙂

  3. It’s so nice to hear that your daughter is better 🙂
It’s so nice that you moved close to her and, moreover, your house looks so cozy!!!
A big hug to your beautiful family 🙂

  4. It’s lovely to see you back, Kymber, you’ve been missed!

Thank you for the updates. Your daughter sounds like one hell of a tough cookie with a beautiful soul, despite all she’s been going through. To do chemo, and have a child in the middle of it all, just wow. I’m glad little Lyra is doing better. I’m so sorry there’s still a lymph node of concern; she’s in good care with her medical team by the sound of it and I hope that whatever decision is made about what needs to be done will be able give Katy the all-clear finally.

We were hoping to move (looking but no work done) but then the pandemic hit. Here you are, with a lot on your plate and relocating to a new village. I take my hat off to you! I love the photos – looks like Cesare has already very nicely settled in! And little Josie Pye looks like a ‘sweetie-pye’. Double the feline trouble, you are brave! 😸

Of course we’ll all be here whenever Noble Doubt returns. Just focus on you & your family. I hope all the comments here reassure you that you’re loved and we’re looking forward to more stories!

Sending lots of love and best wishes your way, and to your family 🌷 ♥ ♥ ♥

    Caz xx

    • Thank you so much, Caz. OMG I think I wrote a comment to you the other day and called you Cam. 😂😳 Please forgive me. I know your name. 😲 I’m all kinds of embarrassed right now.

Your comment is so lovely. Katy is definitely a tough cookie. She also had that baby without her husband present as she gave birth on election day and so he was deployed with the army to help keep rioters at bay. I was with her, though, so that was good. I’m the only person who has seen the birth of both her children.

Cesare has indeed set claim to his new kingdom. But don’t worry, there is plenty left for Josie Pye to claim, too. haha 😀 They are both crazy, just don’t tell them I said that.

I am so thankful for all the positive comments, yours included. xo Noble Doubt is returning Saturday. 😀

Thank you again, and also sending best wishes to you and yours. xo ♥♥

  5. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter and granddaughter. And happy they seem to be doing well. How horrible for everyone. I love your new house and that you are closer to your family.

Funny timing–I just clicked on your website a few days ago to see what happened to your story, maybe right before this post went live. Good timing.

  6. So great to hear from you and your daughter and family is truly inspiring! I missed No Doubt so much and am glad to hear the hiatus is coming to an end. Also have to point out how incredibly adorable and peaceful Cesare and Josie looks. <3 Lots of love and prayers for all of you.

    • Thank you so much. I’ve really missed you, and am glad you’re looking forward to the return of ND. ❤ Cesare and Josie have claimed their kingdom. LOL 😀

  7. Hello my dear friend. I have missed you. I will put your daughter in my prayers. The house is beautiful and so big. I hope you are doing okay. Hello from Michigan.

  8. All the best wishes for your strong daughter an her little ones.
May your sweet new house be filled with much laughter and cheering and your mind free to create a mess
in your stories, bringing hope to your sims and make us feel the love in your heart.
I’m glad to see you back and thank you for the glimpse at your home.
Cesare seems to appreciate the new surroundings and the company of pretty Josie Pye.
    Sincerely, Doris.
    ❤😊

  9. I was worried about you… So happy to see that you are back and to hear to the good news about your family and to see pictures of your home, even though it looks a bit to cold outside for my liking… but its nearly summer and I wish you and your family lots of good heath and happiness too 🙂

  10. It’s truly wonderful to hear that your daughter (and granddaughter) are pushing through these battles! I wish your family good health and more happiness to come ❤ The little house is lovely—that big repurposed counter is awesome. And yes for more Noble Doubt! I completely forgot about catching up so time to get back on it pronto 😅

  11. So glad Katy and the girls are coming along well. I have every appendage and eyes crossed for the best outcome. Your new house is divine and inspiring and you certainly have a lot to write about. Cesare is looking mighty smug with his new girl and fancy lifestyle. He seems to have adjusted we’ll.

  12. So much happy for the good news.

Will continue to keep your family in my wishes for strong health.

Let me just say, I Love! and am slightly envious of your new house, but not of the rushed move. A fair number of folks I know have moved to be closer to family this year. Wishing you a wonderful year.

  13. So glad to read/see all this goodness!! I’m in love with your house!! If you find things missing, I’ll go ahead and tell you…it was me. 🤣

  14. I almost cried reading about your warrior of a daughter. And your house!!! It actually reminds me of Blue and Matthieu’s house a little. My favorite room in your beautiful house: the library!!!! #Bookworm 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Violincat. You’re right about her being a fighter. She has had so much on her plate, I’m so glad I can be near her to help out. xo

  15. I’m so,happy things are working out and the baby and your daughter are doing well in spite of the cancer. She’s been so strong, I’m sure she eventually conquer it! My prayers are with you and your family. The house is amazing! Congrats. And yes, I’ll be here when Noble Doubt returns! ❤️❤️❤️

    • Thank you, Audrey. I believe you’re right that she’ll beat this. 🙂 I’m glad you like the house! It’s been so exciting for us. I’m also so glad you’ll be around for Noble Doubt’s return. That means the world to me. ❤️❤️

      • I was up until 3am finishing Kai’s current progress. I can’t help but feel he and Jade are having twins. Wouldn’t be surprising considering how many twins were born into the legacy!
