Chapter 6.1: Dear Diary, I’m Bea

Hello! I’m Bea and I welcome you to Sunlit Tides where I live. Oh, was I supposed to say “Dear Diary” just then? Oh, well. I will not worry about a little thing like that. Not this time anyway. Sometimes I fret over things way more than I should and it gets on my nerves. I wish I could be more like my dad. He doesn‘t seem bothered by anything.

My mom, though, I’d rather not even talk about her right now. I suppose I must at some point but at the moment, I’d rather welcome you to my life.

I‘m excited, you see. This is my first diary and I have the important job of documenting my life as all the family heirs have before me. I‘m the sixth person to hold the title of “heir.” And, what could be more thrilling than that?

For the sake of keeping it all straight, I will list us all here:

Memphis Noble (Capra) was the Founder and Generation One.
Leo Capra was Generation two and Memphis’ son.
Blue Capra (Larochette) was Generation 3 and Leo’s daughter.
Marty Larochette (Sprague) was Generation 4 and Blue‘s daughter.
Holden Sprague was Generation 5 and Marty‘s son.
Bea Sprague (me! – oh, and I wonder what my last name will eventually be?!) is Generation 6 and Holden’s daughter, obviously.

The most sensational part of all is that I’ve moved back to Sunlit Tides and even live near the house where our family legacy began with Memphis!

Being here is exhilarating and makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.

Look! Here I am at home. I live in the little cottage on the left. It‘s one room with a kitchenette, daybed, and a table to eat at. Oh, and there’s a bathroom. Perla Forelli lives in the main house and is my landlord. My living arrangement has worked out well, I‘m pleased to announce. Over the past two years, Perla has “adopted” me and thinks of me like a granddaughter. But, you know, she doesn’t act like you might think typical of a grandma. That’s okay with me since it means she’s not looking over my shoulder constantly. I wouldn’t be able to stand that at all.

Some might say what I have isn’t much. What they don‘t know is that I‘m happy with what I have. I think the reason is that I know I won’t always be here. While I don’t think I‘m destined for amazing things (my sights are much more realistic than that), I know, deep down, I will have a good and comfortable life if I work hard and save. That would be a successful life in my book.

Oh, you’ve noticed Sherman, I see. He’s one of Perla’s cats. He seems to like me more than the other one which is Sherman’s “wife” Henrietta. Perla has ideas about animals I find interesting. She told me she doesn’t own Sherman and Henrietta but that they are her friends and so, she cares for their needs. I’ve seen no one talk to animals the way Perla does. It’s fascinating because every being she comes in contact with seems to appreciate this.

She had a tendency to call me names like ‘darling’ in a style that reminded me of the way old screen legends spoke in classic movies. The only thing Perla was missing were the flowing gowns, glitzy makeup, and glamour. She had the swagger and speech patterns down pat already.

“I simply must speak with you,” she continued.

“Oh, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing is wrong, Dear. Why must there always be something the matter? I only wanted to show you the lovely gift your father and mother sent.”

With that, she spun around on her heel and I drew my eyes to the garish shirt she had on.

“He sent me an ugly sweater, too,” I said with a nod as my face turned bright red and my cheeks became hot. Even after two years, my dad continued to send me reminders I was missing his annual ugly sweater party.

“Ugly?” Perla echoed, pulling the bottom corners of the shirt so she could look down on it better. “I thought it was a marvelous gift, simply marvelous.”

“Oh, uh, I‘m glad you like it,” I said, stuttering over my words.

Not in a million years, I thought. Then, I smiled at her, my heart full of tenderness. She was the sweetest person I‘d ever met and there was not a mean bone in her body. Yes, she thought the sweater was a beautiful gift instead of the joke they intended it to be. And, yes, her lipstick never seemed to be all the way inside the lines. Her personality was loud and sometimes perplexing to be around. But I loved her with all my heart. There was so much about her to love, you see. She kept her house up well, built a beautiful garden and yard from the ground up, and all the children on the island flocked to her wherever she went. If a neighbor was ill or someone had an emergency, you could count on her to be the first to help. I admired how active she was, too, rising early and always having big plans for the day. Because of her sweet disposition, the people in Sunlit Tides were always eager to help her, cleaning her rain gutters, fixing broken steps or roof tiles, and more.

Whenever I asked her why she was always doing something and didn’t rest, she would say, “I‘m not done with life, Darling. I‘m not ready to sit in my rocker on the porch. There’s plenty of time for that later.”

I hoped I would live the type of life where people loved me when I was older the way they adored Perla. That would be another sign of success, I think.

The best thing about being a realtor is getting to see all the beautiful homes for sale. Every day, as I go to the office, I pass Memphis’ house. It’s been empty since before I moved here yet no one has asked to see it. Can you believe no one wants it? I’ve seen photos of the inside from when Memphis lived there with her older sister Keniesha and it seems like a fabulous place to live. Also, it’s an ocean front property with a swimming pool and bathhouse.

My boss, Mr. Robles, at Sweet Home Real Estate told me once it was too much upkeep unless someone wanted to purchase it and use it as a rental or bed-and-breakfast. He says it takes a special person to want to do that kind of thing, but, according to him, they’d make a killing doing it. Maybe when I am more established in my field and have enough stability, I could do exactly that. It‘s a big dream, but Aunt Rosetta says to reach as high as I want to. In other words, have goals even if they seem outrageous.

To be honest, being home after work was such a relief but also a drag. Dinner was something I dreaded because I was so frugal, I didn’t want to spend money on food. Yeah, it’s a necessity, and my taste buds are tiring of canned soup, but I have better things to do with my hard earned cash. I have plans for my future.

As I dug around my fridge, I had to remind myself several times that food wasn’t everything.

After my less than rousing dinner, it was my custom to check on Perla. We often enjoyed talking in the evening about our days and who in Sunlit Tides had done something new.

The bridge over the pond was such a lovely spot in her garden, I liked to stop there for a moment or two and watch the swans. They were beautiful and such funny things but I’d learned my lesson the hard way not to get too close to them. They would chase you without mercy and scare you half to death. They had never caught me so I wasn’t certain what would happen in that instance. Thankfully.

Conversations with Perla were engaging. She was an animated speaker and while she spoke, I often imagined her in front of a classroom full of eager children. I wish she’d been my teacher because I think I would have paid more attention to my studies had she been!

“You would not believe how unruly that child was,” Perla was saying.

“I can imagine. You’ve been in some amazing situations.”

“True, Darling, I won’t disagree with you on that. Did you know in my teen years I was Tegan Graham’s babysitter?”

“Who is that?”

“Oh, my sweet dear,” she said, waving her hand in a sweeping motion, “she was none other than Simon Graham’s little sister. I even thought he might ask me on a date at one point, but no. It was not to be.”

I racked my brains trying to figure out who Simon Graham was. There were no light bulbs going on above my head, though.

Perla must have seen the confusion on my face because she made a tsking noise and shook her head. “For Pete’s sake. He was the drummer for Bad Static. Please tell me you’ve heard of them!”

“Oh! Yes! Of course. The classic rock station plays them all the time.”

“Classic rock indeed. They were legends.”

I did my best to suppress a giggle as she continued.

“Those were good times. And it was good music, not like the awful stuff they have now.”

“Did you know my great-great-grandfather was Leo Capra? From Accidental Therapy? Their songs are played a lot on the classic rock station, too.”

“You don’t say?”

“Yes, true story,” I grinned.

“My, that’s something else.”

“Tell me more about your teen years.”

“Oh, no, I would rather hear about this diary you write in so much.”

It was no small task, explaining how the diary was passed down from one generation to another. She often stopped me to ask questions about the other heirs and what I’d learned about them.

“It’s amazing,” she said. “Had his diary not been added to all this time, you would probably not know anything about the generations that preceded you.”

“That’s true. I feel as if I know each of them personally since reading the entire thing.”

“Tell me something amazing from each of them.”

I didn’t even have to think about it. “Well, Memphis was the first. She thought she was an ugly duckling and that nothing exciting would ever happen to her. She ended up having a full life. Then, Leo, well, you already know he was in Accidental Therapy. After the band went their own ways, he became a composer for the film industry. Oh, and he raised a daughter on his own.”

“Who was next?’

“His daughter Blue.”

“What an unusual name.”

“Yes, and she led an unusual life, too. She couldn’t stand the fame that came with her father’s career and she moved to an island called Winchester. There’s nothing there – no amenities, I mean. Apparently, it’s a small community isolated from the rest of the world.”

“It sounds like some kind of cult,” Perla said.

I smiled. “It does, really. Blue had six children and gave the diary to her daughter Marty. She is my grandmother.”

“And what did Marty do?”

“She became an archeologist and traveled all over the world having crazy adventures.”

“Amazing! And your father, then, is her son.”

“Yes, that’s right. Well, you know him. He became a dancer in the Royal Ballet and married my mom.”

“Is something troubling you, Darling?”

“What?” I asked, then realized I’d been frowning. How could I tell her about my dad’s journal and how much it had bothered me? It seemed like a conversation for another time, if at all. “No, nothing. I guess I’m just tired.”

Later that night, I was debating whether to get ready for bed or not. As tomorrow was Saturday, I didn’t have much of a reason for going to bed early. On any other night, I might even head to a club or something. The bars would be crawling with tourists and I never had to buy my own drinks because there were always guys to do that even if I told them I wasn’t interested. So, it wasn’t like I couldn’t go because I was saving money. Tonight, it was plain and simple. I didn’t feel like it.

Flipping on the TV, I couldn’t stop the smile from curling my lips. There was a horror movie on. Not Graveyard Gary, but a different one that Aunt Rosetta had watched with me once. I avoided telling people in Sunlit Tides that Rosetta Sprague, Leader of the Free World, and I were related. Although I didn’t pay much attention to politics, I was aware there were people I knew that didn’t like her or how she was running things. Instead of dealing with their distaste, I opted out of having that, “you know she’s my aunt” conversation. It was easier that way.

A knock on the door brought me out of my thoughts and I ran to see who would visit me so late.

As he strolled inside, my mouth gaped and I was at a loss for words.

“Hi, Bea.”

All at once, my head cleared, and I jumped up and down, squealing. “Jem! I can’t believe you’re here!”

“I’m here… for you.”

It was all I could do to stop screeching his name. After a minute or two, I was calmer again. “It’s so, so good to see you!”

Then, just as I was realizing what he said, he grabbed my hand and pulled me outside.

As if in a dream, he pulled me into his arms and kissed me.

He kissed me!

I’d never kissed him before so to say I was surprised was an understatement.

“Jem -”

“- Shh…” His full mouth was mere inches from mine as he smiled. “I’m here to tell you I love you, Bea. I love you so much I never want to be without you again.”

I was speechless as, under the stars in Sunlit Tides, Jem’s lips found mine again.

Author’s Note: And we are back, this time with Bea and Generation 6! I hope you will enjoy this generation as you get a feel for who Bea is. I’m afraid she might seem a little boring in this chapter, but don’t fret, things are definitely going to pick up from here on out! 😀

I also wanted to apologize for getting behind on some of your stories again. I really needed the week off, but I wish I’d kept reading because I want to know what’s going on! I love your stories so much and should be caught up shortly. 🙂 Thank you for your patience.

I’m sure you already know this but in case you didn’t, I thought this would be a good time to bring your attention to the “Everything Noble Doubt” in my menu at the top of this page. Under there, you can find summaries and characters for each generation. I have some catching up to do with Holden and if I haven’t already, I’ll be starting Bea’s pages, too.

As always, thank you for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting,

  1. Apologies for falling so incredibly behind on your story! I didn’t realise how much Tumblr had pulled me away from here 😬
It was nice to have that brief look back at the past generations. I can’t believe five generations have already passed by, it doesn’t seem so long ago that we were with Memphis. And I applaud you for being so consistent and persistent with this legacy to have made it this far 👏
I really like Bea and how practical she is, working steady and hard. Her work ethic and humble yet optimistic perspective on life is actually quite admirable. She’s such a sweetheart, too, and her friendship with ‘darling’ Perla is super cute.
Oh wow, Jem shocked me as much as he did Bea, bursting into her life with the extremely sudden and dramatic profession of love 😮 I feel like that is the very opposite of how Bea would approach something like this, given her pragmatic ways, so I’m not sure what to think, especially since Bea seems to be happy focusing on her work… I wouldn’t be too happy if a friend just came without announcement and kissed me 🤔
Great start to the generation, looking forward to seeing how her story plays out ❤

  2. Bea seems quite different than the other heirs. She seems perfectly happy in her little house in being frugal to save up some money for something a bit better later on. It bothers me though that she was bothered by Holden‘s journal. I wonder if it was the shooting material that bothered her a lot. They probably didn’t talk about that too much and she wouldn’t remember Holden being sick and in a wheelchair. The thing is, if Holden‘s diary bothered her so much, she would totally freak out over Rosetta’s.

I think Perla is good for her. I really like her and wish she had been my teacher. She seems like such a sweet lady who everyone loves.

And what’s going on with Jem? Talk about not giving the poor girl a chance to respond! I just hope Bea doesn’t get caught up in the whirlwind of emotions and thinks about what she is doing first.

    • I’m glad Bea seems different than the other heirs. I try. haha 😀 There is something that bothers her about Holden’s journal but it’s not really touched upon with detail until toward the end of the generation. In fact, I think you’re caught up, so you’re seeing the beginnings of it now. 🙂

And, you’re right, if she ever read Rosetta’s diary! LOL

Perla is good for her, that’s true. She’s a sweet lady. ❤️

Yes! Jem just shows up like that and … WHOA! lol

  3. Those pics around Sunlit Tides are stunning! Also I love the chicken at the end of each scene.

I love that Perla is there to keep an eye on Bea, not that she needs it exactly, but she seems like a lovely person!

Jem has arrived!!! I wonder how this will go…

    • Thank you, Heather! ❤ You’re the first person to mention the chicken! LOLOL I thought it would be funny but I was thinking maybe no one was getting my sense of humor. 😂😂

I think Bea really enjoys Perla. I love writing her. lol And, yes, Jem is there! Things will move quickly, so you’ll see right off how it’s going to go with Jem. 😊

  4. So sorry it took me such a long time to read this, finals were brutal this semester! But to start off – I love Bea! I think she’s down to earth but still has a sense of adventure. I can’t wait to delve deeper into her story. Her relationship with Jem is so freaking cute!!! *squealing* And finally, Perla is wonderful character and guardian for Bea – I love the interactions between them and can’t wait to see more of her!

    • Awww don’t worry. Finals are like that sometimes and I’m just glad they’re over for you. I hope it all went well.

I’m so glad you love Bea! I think you’re right in your assessment of her. She and Jem have a huge adventure ahead of them. As for Perla, I’m so glad you want to see more of her because I’m having a lot of fun writing her. 😀

  5. Generation 6 is off with a bang!!

So much to talk about.  First off, Perla is so wonderful.  I love her character so very much.  And I love the classic movie talk (it sort of reminds me of my grandmother who I got my love of classic movies from).  Calling Bea Darling reminds me of Bette Davis in All About Eve.
Bea is so fascinating, nothing like her father.  Must more pragmatic like her Aunt Rosetta.  But I wonder what part of Holden’s story she does not like.
And then Jem showing up at the end.  Thne kissing under the stars!!  WOW!!! wink

    • I love Perla, too. I also love classic movies so much, her voice is really clear in my head. Bette Davis is a good comparison to my intention. 16 I think that’s sweet she reminds you of your grandmother and that it was your grandmother who got you interested in classic movies.

That tickles me pink that you think Bea is fascinating! My job here is done. 15 You’re right that she is pragmatic like Aunt Rosetta. And you will find out in the near future what parts of Holden’s story bothered her. It’s big.

      Yes! Jem has arrived!

  6. I have a feeling Bea may find that this surprise visit with Jem isn’t quite what she wants. She doesn’t seem ready to settle down, she has an ambitious soul! But we shall see.
I identify with being frugal so much haha. I could have thousands of pounds in my bank and still scrimp and save. It’s like a pathological need xD
Oh, and an interesting little bit about how some people don’t like Rosetta’s leadership. Will we be hearing more of that, or is that something for Holden to deal with now?

    • You might be right about Jem’s visit. lol She does have an ambitious soul, it’s true.

A pathological need! lol I like how you put that. 😀 That’s how I picture her. lol I’m so glad you can identify with that aspect of Bea.

As for Rosetta, being the leader of the free world has some far reaching consequences so we will definitely be touching upon that in this generation. 😀

  7. Yay!! Generation 6 has begun, this is so exciting! 😀 Bea is very interesting – I don’t thing I’ve ever seen a heir that is so frugal! That was really funny to me, lol! But I like that she’s so practical, ambitious (not Rosetta ambitious, but more like “I can make it on my own” ambitious) and down to earth! I am so very curious what the future holds for her! <3
Jem coming on like that was certainly a surprise (but a good one)! I did wait for him to appear in much later episodes, but it seems he wasn't willing to wait, haha! 😉 I'm very curious to see if their relationship will last though..!
Perla is one of my favorite characters, period! She's so lovely, funny and enjoyable to read! Here's hoping she will be on many many chapters more! 😀
Great start <3 I so look forward to reading more of Bea's life! <3 <3

    • I’m glad you are excited about Gen 6 and that you think Bea is interesting! 😀 She is definitely super frugal and it’s because, as you said, she has ambitions to do things on her own, I do think that’s a positive way Rosetta influenced her.

You’re right! Jem just couldn’t wait! LOL It will be interesting to see how their relationship goes.

I’m so glad you love Perla! I have so much fun with her when I’m writing and playing the game. 😀 She will definitely be playing a major role in the chapters to come.

  8. Bea is practical, frugal and doesn’t take things for granted. I like that. Perla is a good person for her to have in her life since the other female role models aren’t giving her what she needs emotionally. Hopefully Bea and her mom can resolve whatever issues are keeping them from connecting and respecting each other. Not sure how I feel about Jem shifting from best friend into something more … I never felt any attraction growing between them when they were teens & this declaration took me (and possibly Bea) by surprise. Definitely in a wait and see mode.

    • Thank you, Addy! 🙂 I’m glad you like Bea. She doesn’t need much to be happy, that’s for sure. I think you’re spot on with Perla and what Bea needs in her life from a female role model. I think Bea and Ellie will eventually resolve their differences, it’s just something they need to work through and Bea doesn’t seem to be ready at the moment. Jem is really coming from left field here, surprising her in more ways than one. lol Wait and see mode is a good idea where they are conerned. 😀

  9. There is so much to say. Bea is so very different from her parents. And I wonder what specifically in her dad’s diary bothers her? There is soooo much. And her relationship with her mother seems strained. I think she needed a grandmother and a mother that wasn’t so absent and Perla is totally filling that role.

I love the house they live in and seeing all the properties. I hope maybe she buys Memphis’s house! That would be so fun.

And Jem! He came to find her because he’s in love with her! Yay….it seems she wasn’t minding the kiss one little bit, so maybe she has feeling s for him too.

Great start to Bea. So very different fro her parents…

    • You are definitely right that there is sooo much in Holden’s diary that could be bothering her. I think there is a lot in there she didn’t know about either of her parents that may have shocked her just a bit. lol She probably learned some things about Rosetta, too. lol

I do agree that Perla is a blessing in Bea’s life. Ellie worked a lot, it’s true. Holden worked as well, but I think he ended up being more the family type at home. Perla is defintitely filling some much needed roles for her.

When I saw that cute cottage, I knew she and Perla had to live there. lol Wouldn’t it be cool if she ended up living in Memphis’ house? 😀

Jem is in love with Bea! Like, totally head over heels! YAY! I think you’re right that she didn’t mind that kiss one bit, so it does seem reciprocated there. 😀

I’m so glad you enjoyed this chapter. It means so much to hear you say so.

  10. Sunlit Tides is so beautiful!
The part about Holden sending them ugly Christmas sweaters is awesome, but also made me a little sad that Bea doesn’t make it home for Christmas with her family. I can’t wait to hear about Ellie, and why Bea is refraining from mentioning her right now. 🤔 She looks so much like her mother!
It’s nice that Bea is enjoying her life in Sunlit Tides, and that all seems to be going well for her. Her thoughts on spending money on food are the same as mine! I hate spending money on food, I’ve always wished I didn’t need to eat because I would save so much money lol. If I didn’t have a husband and toddler to feed, I would probably have a diet similar to Bea’s! But maybe a tad better than canned soup haha.
Jem grew up so well! He is very handsome. 🙂 His confession of love may seem sudden, but they have been friends forever! So these are feelings he may have been holding on to for awhile. I think they make a cute couple and wish the best for them! ❤️

    • I love ST so much, too! 😀

I think it’s kind of sad Bea doesn’t go home for Christmas. I’m betting her parents really pine for her.

I think Bea looks like Ellie, too.

Someone else who feels the same way about food! I totally get it! lol I saw someone on TV once who only ate Ramen noodles until he could afford to buy a house. LOL

I think Jem is handsome, too. 🙂 I agree with you that his confession of love isn’t as sudden as it might seem since he and Bea have known each other their entire lives. She may have suspected as much before, in fact. ❤

  11. No she is not boring at all. Such a romantic story .. A sweet girl who lives ina a tiny beach house in sunlit tides and a beau suddenly appearing at her door .. loved it!

    • I’m so glad you didn’t think she was boring. lol I was a little worried about that. And I’m glad you loved it and thought it was romantic, too. ❤

  12. I love this chapter ! Bea is very different from the other heirs (though she reminds me a bit of Memphis , and I hope her B and B dream comes true ! ), and Perla is awesome !

  13. Well, that was fast. Jem didn’t waste any time.
I don’t like such extreme frugality though, it seems unbalanced. I get that some people will eat only beans to save money for something specific, but…? I see rich people who do that and it works for them, but oh well. I’ll probably never have because I spread it around. LOL
Okay now, Rosetta has a diary? Or was that hypothetical? In any case, not a bad idea… a look at the dark side?

    • Jem kind of reminds me of his dad…. you know, making himself home in other peoples’ houses, etc. LOL

I do agree with you that Bea’s frugality is too extreme. She needs to find a better balance to reach her goals, for sure.

Yes, Rosetta has a diary locked away in a safe somewhere. In it, she’s documented much of what happened around the time she and her people apprehended Holden’s shooter, etc. I wonder if Bea will ever come across this secret journal? 😲

  14. Bea sounds so excited! And Perla… lol I like the way she talks. And those darn cats! LOL I love how Bea says she’s not talking about Ellie right now, he he he. 😀

I hope Bea frugality doesn’t get out of hand. You need to eat, girl!

I know this wasn’t meant to be funny, but it made me laugh anyway: “It sounds like some kind of cult,” Perla said.

Whoa, Jem! Slow down, man LOL.

  15. Yay, it’s beginning! 😀 Sunlit Tides looks amazing. I really like that you’re doing a little flashback to all the previous gens. Can’t believe Marty is already relatively long ago. Seems like it was such a short time ago I was rooting for her and Xalen :O
Bea seems lovely. She’s lucky to be living with someone like Perla. She seems really nice 🙂 I wonder if some of the past stuff is going to come up in this gen, since you’re dropping all these throwbacks. Whatever it is, I can’t wait to know what Bea’s life is going to be like. I’m just as surprised as Bea that Jem came around to kiss her! Obviously, I knew they’re good friends, but I wasn’t sure it was more than that. Aaah, so much exciting stuff to happen. Can’t wait 🙂
Oh, and your pictures look so great! So bright and colourful – love it 🙂
    This was great as always!

    • Thank you so much, Louise. 😀 I’m glad you like the pics, I’ve been trying to make them more consistant and I’m REALLY trying not to mess anymore with my ReShade settings. It’s so hard! LOLOL

Things are going to move fast for a while which is a nice change for me. haha I think you’re right that she’s lucky to live with Perla. It’s definitely been good for her the past two years to have someone like Perla in her life. About the throwbacks…. we shall see. 😀 😀

Jem has it bad, as you can see! LOL I think their time apart drove him a little crazy! 😀 More on that very soon.

I can’t believe how far along we are regarding Marty/Xalen. Boy, I miss them. I’d best get to work on some Inheritance stuff since that is during the time they were in their prime and they don’t age in that story. LOL

      • Ha, ha! I know the Feeling, Kym! I’m still not 100% on my colour settings 😂 but I really think you’ve got good settings by now 🙂

Oh I’m excited for it all! Feels like there’s lots of stuff going on here 🙂

He’s really nuts about her! (My phone suggested this emoji for that 🥜 which made me laugh so now I’m posting it!)

I miss them, too. New Inheritance stuff would be awesome 👏 😃

        • Thank you for the encouragement! It means a lot you saying that because I consider you and Lila the experts in this area. 😀

I’m so glad you’re excited about this! I can’t tell you how excited I am, too.

I LOVE that emoji that came up. It’s making me LOL for real. haha

I will work on The Inheritance ASAP! Thank you so much for the feedback.

  16. Wow! Bea’s so different than Holden. She’s pragmatic, frugal and simple. What bothered me was the line about Holden’s diary bothering her. If that was too much, what would she do if she was the heir to my legacy? Having to read Sam’s diary and knowing you are related to him is a lot. But… is it because she didn’t know Holden’s pan or is it something else?
I totally understand Perla about saying she doesn’t own her cats. They can’t truly be owned, I can say as a former cat caregiver.
Ah, I knew it would be Jem! I thought they were a thing but Holden didn’t know for a moment there when he rushed in to kiss her. Something like Fletcher and Holden. But it’s different here, I see. I wonder what awaits them in the future!
It’s kind of weird to have the snow falling while looking at the tropical photos with palms, lol.
I also loved how you talked about each heir before Bea. It was really nice.
    I’m excited for Bea’s gen!

    • I thought about the snow falling on the tropics and wondered if I should make it go away. LOL! I hope it wasn’t too distracting.

I think Bea would freak out if she was Sam’s heir. hahaha But, then again, she thinks nothing of Rosetta although Rosetta and Sam aren’t identical, just similar.

I wish I could say something about Jem and Bea here, but I don’t want to give anything away. Let’s just say the story is going to move really fast, at least, for now.

I’m so glad you liked the chapter. I hope you’ll find Bea’s story worthwhile. 😀

      • Oh, no, it just felt like a weather anomaly 😛
Totally. But if it’s what I think it is, then Sam was not only evil, but also liked both men and women like Holden. If it’s what bothers Bea, she might freak. 😛 And then again, she never got to read Rosetta’s diary. I think she doesn’t know that much about her as she thinks she does.
        Ooh, looking forward to that!

        • Weather anomoly is right! haha I did worry about that. 😀 I’m glad it was too much of a distraction.

That’s a good point about Sam as I’d forgotten he was bi. You’ll definitely find out in the near future what Bea thinks about what she read. 😀

You’re so right about Bea not having read Rosetta’s diary. Rosetta keeps that puppy under lock and key! Otherwise, she might be in prison. 😛 Bea has no idea that Rosetta ever found Holden’s shooter and what happened to them. Perhaps, one day, she will find out. 😱
